In 2004 I realized there were a lot of big-time, elemental sports events I'd never been to. So I spent one year traveling to the 10 greatest sports events, or at least the 10 that topped my list and wrote a book about the experience. - I've worked as a magazine editor and writer for the last 18 years, the last four as a Senior Editor at Sports Illustrated where I work (mostly) on golf. Although I wrote a lot about golf before arriving as SI, I was never really a sportswriter and therefore arrived at the magazine with my fandom more in tact than many seasoned sports scribes. It was the combination of my fan's appreciation for the games and the prospect of working for the foremost sports magazine in the world that in part inspired the book, Fanatic, and this blog.

I love this guy! To be that miserable on a daily basis and have an outlet for it that others can enjoy is truly a gift. I have bookmarked his blog for future laughter when I have none scheduled and need it.
Oh, you didn't really believe he was going to like the book, did you?
